Thomas Bernard Heslin, 78, of Warminster, PA, died Wednesday, February 7th, 2024.
Born March 26th, 1945, in Binghamton, NY, to Edward and Mary Heslin, Thomas was the youngest of eight children in an Irish immigrant household.
Thomas served in the US Army in Okinawa. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College (ESU) and entered a career in education. He was a physical education teacher and a guidance counselor at Bensalem High School, where he was head of the guidance department. He was a basketball coach at Bensalem and at Bucks County Community College, where he coached the women of BCCC to a state championship. He operated a basketball camp at BCCC for many years and was active in the sports community locally and statewide.
Thomas loved Irish music, college basketball, and Notre Dame football. He always found ways to encourage others to achieve their goals. He was immensely proud of the students he taught and the athletes he coached.
He is survived by his wife Mary Hawley Heslin, his children Jennifer (Robert), Brendan (Pina), and Matthew (Ingrid), and by his grandchildren Cay, Christopher, and Courtney.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m.
