Sivak, Paul R. Binghamton: Paul R. Sivak, 94, of Binghamton died Wednesday April 4, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Kathy Brady Sivak and a great grandson, Joshua Jennings Crawford and all of his brothers and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Catherine Handy Sivak; his children, Thomas Sivak, Binghamton, Paulette and Ted Jennings, Loudon, TN, B.J. Watson, Ovido, FL, Kathi-Anne and Tim VanHine, Apalachin; eight grandchildren, Pamela, Todd, Ted, Jr., Marianne, Bobby, Nick, Timmy Jr. and Kevin; one great-grandchild, Ben; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal and a member of the Men's Club. Paul was the proprietor of Paul Sivak Pharmacy in Binghamton for many years. He graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving for 5 years, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a member of American Legion Post 1227 and local president of APhA and a member of the Binghamton Adirondack Club. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, enjoyed travel and an avid N.Y. Yankee Fan. Paul loved his children and his beloved wife. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lourdes Hospital and Hilltop Retirement Center. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Vincent dePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent dePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Paul may be made to Loaves and Fishes Pantry, 165 Clifton Blvd.,Vestal, NY 13850. Arrangements are by the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton.
