Dolan, Robert M. Binghamton: Robert M. Dolan, 85, of Binghamton, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Good Shepherd Village Health Center in Endwell, having endured the effects of Parkinson's disease for many years and, recently, dementia. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank E. and Mary Mackey Dolan. He is survived by cousins Colleen Dempsey, Patricia and James Chivers of Binghamton, JoAnn Dolan, Alexandria, VA. Bob graduated from Binghamton North High School and Syracuse University. He served in the United States Army in Germany and Austria at the end of World War II. He was a police reporter for the Binghamton Press for many years. Bob was a quiet, gentle man with many interests. He was an avid reader, a gifted writer and a talented self-taught musician. The family sincerely appreciates the constant, kind and compassionate care give to Bob during the past 18 months in the Skilled Care Unit of Good Shepherd Village in Endwell. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Monday at 11 a.m. Reverend Robert Gaska will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bob may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
