Gibbons, Carol L. Binghamton: On Tuesday, October 4, 2011, our beloved mother, Carol L. (Roberts) Gibbons, 84, was carried to heaven on the wings of angels and cardinals to be forever reunited with her husband. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. (Bill) Gibbons; her son-in-law, Robert L. Wilkins; and an infant grandson, Joseph Charles Gibbons. She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert W. Gibbons and his wife Dawn; her daughter, Mary K. Wilkins; her brother, Donald C. Roberts Sr. (Marie); and brother, Charles T. Roberts (Roberta). Five precious grandchildren survive: Jason, Joseph (Kerri), Daniel and Justin Gibbons, and Bobbi Sue Tellitocci (Travis); along with her step-grandson, Gregory Marsella. Four very special great-grandchildren survive: Briana, Jayda, JoJo and Aidan Gibbons. Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. Carol was a retiree of Lourdes Hospital and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Vestal. She was totally devoted to her faith and to our Lord. She enjoyed her daily morning coffee klatch with "the girls," as she affectionately referred to them. She was blessed with many dedicated and loving friends and wonderful neighbors who always looked out for her. Carol was "famous" for her baking, especially her cookies! She couldn't go anywhere without receiving a list of cookie requests, which she lovingly fulfilled for her family and friends. The family wishes to thank Drs. Ramanujan and Liu for their superb medical care over the past many years and especially this last week of her life. Mom truly loved her "Ram." We also wish to thank the staff of Memorial 3, Binghamton General Hospital, for the loving care provided to our mother. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial donations in Mom's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or The Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231.
