Obituary of Norma W. O'Neil

Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
O'Neil, Norma Wilcox Conklin: On Wednesday, August 17, 2011, we lost our Mom and dear friend unexpectedly. Norma, 85, was predeceased by her husband, William O'Neil, and her mother, Helen Wilcox, and she will now watch over us from heaven as she did with so many of us here on Earth. She is survived by her children, Timothy O'Neil and Lenora LaMonica, Binghamton, Kellee and Mark Gayzik, Brackney, PA; a sister-in-law, Liz Senio, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. She retired as treasurer of Singer-Link with 24 years of service. She was president of Link Activity Club; past pres. of the PTA; president of her golf and bowling leagues and second vice president of Conklin Senior Center. She was a member of the Endwell and Binghamton Garden Clubs. She enjoyed tap dancing and jazz dancing. To know Norma was to love her. She taught us the meaning of love, the importance of family and how to give with all of our heart. Norma was a second Mom to so many and graciously opened her home and her heart to everyone that was lucky enough to know her and greeted them with her smiling Irish eyes. The family wishes to thank Dr. John DiMenna for his friendship, care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Monday at 1 p.m. Reverend Matthew F. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
