Obituary of Lucille G. Davies

Lucille Gladys Davies, 72, of Binghamton, died Wednesday evening, March 31, 2004, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence Stringham and Walter McKearney; her sisters and brothers, Viola Henrich, Dorothy Brady, Helen Oliver, Clarence Stringham, James Stringham. She is survived by her children, Sharon A. and Brian Leahy, Melody J. and Jeffrey McDonald, Robin E. Davies, all of Binghamton, Holly L. and Gene Posniewski, Ravena, William E. and Catherine Davies, Jr., James C. Davies and Rosezella West, all of Binghamton; six grandchildren, Colleen, Emily, Billy, Amanda, Caitlyn and Eugene; two great-grandchildren, Mikael and Jacob; her faithful companion, "Marvin." She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton, and a longtime employee of Endicott Research Group. Lucille enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and vegetables, and adopted abused animals. The family would like to thank her friends at Lourdes Hospital for the special care and gentle touch. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed time with her special grandchildren and believed in "a dollar and a dream!" Funeral services will be held at the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Hillcrest. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Lucille may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13903, or Project Paw, 127 Bevier St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13904.
