Obituary of Dorothy M. Skope

Dorothy M. Skope, 78, of Binghamton, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at the Susquehanna Nursing Center after a short illness. She was predeceased by her dearly loved husband, Joseph P. Skope Sr.; her parents, Edward McHale and Ernestine Michalek Askew; and her brother, Louis G. McHale. She is survived by her most precious loved children, her daughter, Deborah Campbell; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Kathleen Skope; her most adored granddaughters, Kristen, Lauren and Valerie Campbell and Holly Skope; most loving grandson, Matthew and wife, Louise Skope; most precious great-grandchildren, McKenna, Gillian and Evan Skope; and two of the greatest loves and joys in her life, Dolly and Oscar. She is also survived by one uncle, William and Irene Michalek; in-laws, Mary Brusil, Anna Orzell, Madeline Romback, John and Nellie Skope, Thomas Skope, and Paul Tschopp; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dorothy was a member of St. Christopher's Church, Binghamton, and was a retired secretary for the Town of Chenango. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Susquehanna Nursing Center for the wonderful care given Dorothy. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. and at 1 p.m. at St. Christopher's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dorothy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
