Eleanor "Ellie" McGeever, 69, of Binghamton, died Tuesday morning, October 7, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Binghamton Fire Captain, Donald W. McGeever; her parents, Marshall and Gertrude Bishop; sister, Barbara Skellett; and a brother, Phillip Bishop. She is survived by her children, David and Geraldine McGeever, Lexington, Ky., Karen and David Wagstaff, Conklin, Cindy and John Moody, Hillcrest, Stanley McGeever and Debbie Monell, Chenango Bridge, Lori McGeever, Donald L. McGeever, both of Binghamton; several grandchildren; two sisters, Vergie Grover, Binghamton, Caroline Dimmick, Syracuse; five brothers, Rev. Charles and Karen Bishop, Pa., John Paul and Kathy Pucek, Joseph Pucek, Francis Pucek, all of Lexington, Ky., Howard Bishop, Binghamton; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton. Ellie was a retired nurse at Broome Developmental Center and a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division II. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, on Friday at 8:30 a.m., and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ellie may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
