Obituary of Robert T. Natale

Robert T. Natale, 77, of Binghamton, died Thursday evening, September 11, 2003, at the Willow Point Nursing Home. Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Yvonne O'Keefe Natale, Binghamton; his children, Robert Natale, Patrick and Maureen Natale, Mary Ann and Joseph Gaetani, Thomas and Ellen Natale, Katherine and Gerald Westfall, Yvonne Natale, Joseph and Jennifer Natale; ten grandchildren, Patrick, Gabriel, Marcella, Mary Catherine, Anthony, Teresa, Matthew, Caitlin, Sara and Kyle; two sisters, Catherine and Anthony Monoco, Lecanto, Fla., Joanne Woisen, Rio Rancho, N.Mex.; special cousin, Robert Mahoney, Bellrose, N.Y. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, and served in the Navy during WWII. Bob joined the New York State Police in 1949 and rose through the ranks to be appointed First Sergeant of Troop C, Sidney, in 1965. He served in Sidney until 1979 and was promoted to Technical Lt. , and retired from State Police Headquarters, Albany, in 1980. From 1981 to 1988, he served as Undersheriff of Broome County. He was a member of the Retired Troopers Association and Police Benevolent Association. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. at St Mary of the Assumption Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Bob may be made to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, 37 Fayette St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13902.
