Obituary of Neal E. Irons

Neal E. Irons, 73, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, June 19, 2003, at our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Joseph P. and Louise Irons. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Irons, Binghamton; his children, Joseph and Joy Irons, Endicott, Elizabeth Irons-Isaak, Johnson City, Louise Irons and J.R. Acevedo, Binghamton; three grandchildren, Joseph Irons, Mary Isaak, Rachel Chambers; and two nieces and two nephews. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and served with the Armed Services Radio. Neal drove Laidlaw Bus for the Binghamton School District, transporting children to Hillel Academy and had fond memories of the children at Hillel. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Neal may be made to Hillel Academy of Broome County, Deerfield Pl., Vestal, N.Y. 13850.
