Harry
L. Papastrat, 73, of Binghamton, passed away Tuesday evening, June 10, 2003 at
Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents,
Louis and Bessie Papastrat; and his brothers, George and Gus. He is survived by
his wife of 43 years, Patricia Papastrat; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki
and Steve Dowzicky, Janet and Ronald Schwartz; two very special and loving
grandchildren, Cara and Kyle; his mother-in-law, Johanna Miras; brother and
sister-in-law, Arthur and Bessie Papastrat; sister-in-law, Christine Papastrat;
brothers-in-law, James Miras, Alex and Ava Miras; sister-in-law, Voula and
William Vlachodimas; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Holy
Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Binghamton, and Ahepa. Harry was a US Army
veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 80.
Funeral services will be held at
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 214 Court St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9
a.m. Rev. Fr. George E. Prassas, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in
Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Trisagon service will be Friday at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of
sympathy in memory of Harry may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church,
214 Court St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
