Martin
J. Reap, 88, of Binghamton, died Tuesday afternoon, May 13, 2003, at Our Lady
of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin T. and Sarah C.
Reap; his sisters, Mary Reap, Josephine Eggleston and Helen Gallagher; and
brothers, John and Arthur Reap. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose
Mary Costello Reap; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Ronald Potter,
Sharon and Joseph Longobardi; seven grandchildren, Laura, Lisa Newrock, and
Melanie Potter, Joseph, Justin, Jason and Jenna Longobardi; brother, Joseph
Reap; sister, Juane Skinner; sisters-in-law, Beverly Costello and Elizabeth
Costello; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Marty was
a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton, an usher and member of
the Holy Name Society. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Binghamton Fire
Department, retiring after 29 years of service. He was a US Air Force Staff
Sergeant during WWII and a member of American Legion Post 1645, a member of the
Knights of Columbus, Peter T. Campon Council #206, a member of the 4th Degree
Assembly, member of the Binghamton Elks B.P.O.E. #852, and was an avid bowler
and golfer.
Funeral services will be held at
the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday, at 9
a.m., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church where a Funeral Mass
will be offered. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The
family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday, from 4 to 7
p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marty may be made to St. John the
Evangelist Church Restoration Fund, 1263 Vestal Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13903.
