Obituary of Shirley J. Clendening

Shirley
J. Clendening, 63, of West Windsor, went to be with the Lord on Sunday,
December 8, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a long illness. She was
predeceased by her father, Frank E. Clendening Sr.; and her brother, Frank E.
Clendening Jr., who died in the Korean War. She is survived by her mother,
Florence Clendening, West Windsor; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard D. and
Mary Lou Clendening, Kirkwood; nieces and their spouses, Joan April and Mark
Rauscher, Hillcrest, Patty and John Fitzgerald, Kirkwood; three great-nieces
and one great-nephew. Shirley was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church,
Hillcrest, retired from the N.Y. Telephone Co. with 33 years of service, a
member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and an honorary life member of the
Communication Workers of America. She was a graduate of Binghamton North High
School in 1958 and enjoyed her family, traveling and wood working.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main
St., Binhamton, Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and at 12 noon at St. Catherine of Siena
Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack
Funeral Home, Wednesday, from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy
in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church Sunshine Fund,
1031 Chenango St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
