Obituary of Rita A. VanDusen

Rita A. O'Neill Martin VanDusen, 70 of Binghamton, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003 surrounded by loved ones. Born July 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Cavanaugh O'Neill. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Martin in 1965, her second husband, Jack VanDusen in 1997; stepson James VanDusen; and son-in-law, Jeffrey C. MacDonald. She is survived by four daughters, Ann Marie Evans, Kathleen MacDonald, June and John Bechtel and Shirley Martin; four stepchildren, Gene VanDusen, Nancy DePue, Sue VanDusen, Dee and Robert Kline; three grandchildren, Michael and Heather Sacco, Lindsey MacDonald, Ashley Healey, and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton. She enjoyed her many years of volunteering at Binghamton General Hospital and treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren, and with her many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Little Meadows, Pa. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
