Obituary of Ellen K. Donovan

Ellen K. Donovan, 72, of Binghamton, died Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2001, at her home. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry J. and Eleanor F. (Sullivan) Donovan; and her brother, Robert J. Donovan. She is survived by her beloved friend and caregiver, Burton E. (Bob) Waidler, Jr.; her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel J. and Arminta G. Donovan, Upper Marlboro, Md.; sister-in-law, Joan M. Donovan, Cartaret, N.J.; nieces and nephew, Patricia Corbett Etter, Michael Donovan, Sharon Donovan, Jacqueline Donovan; grandniece and grandnephews, Christine Corbett, Robert Corbett, David Donovan; cousins and many dear friends. Ellen was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Hillcrest. She was in the first graduating class class of New York State Technical Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (now Broome Community College), and worked for 46 years at the Chenango Bridge Medical Group before retiring. The family wishes to express their thanks to her doctors, the nurses and staff at Binghamton General Hospital and Rivermede Rehabilitation Center. A special thanks to Sister Karen Gaube, the staff of Lourdes at Home, Lourdes Hospice, and her home health care aides from Caregivers. Funeral services will be held at theJ. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday at 8:30 a.m., and at 9 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ellen may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1031 Chenango St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901, or Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
