Marion L. (Marvin) McGory, 91, formerly of Martha Road, Vestal, died Sunday morning, November 4, 2001 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. She was born December 3, 1909 in Susquehanna, Pa. Marion was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, L. Donald McGory on November 26, 1990; her father, John A. Marvin in 1967; and her mother, Emma M. (Decker) Marvin in 1977. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary E. McGory, Binghamton; four nieces and two nephews by marriage, Mary Ellen McGory, White Plains, James L. McGory, Binghamton, Barbara M. and Donald E. James, Chenango Forks, Beverly A. and Gary J. Arnold, Johnson City, Alice D. and Albert Woodward, Binghamton, George L. and Sandra J. Baxter, Johnson City; and a long time friend and neighbor, A. Elizabeth Liddic, Vestal. Marion was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City and enjoyed many happy hours golfing and bowling in the company of her husband and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Star Unit at James Johnston Nursing Home and Msgr. James D. Kane. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marion, may be to Blessed Sacrament Church, Cenacle Plaza, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790
