Obituary of Elizabeth A. Conaty

Elizabeth Anne Lynch Conaty, of Vestal,
born March 29, 1938, daughter of the late John Francis Lynch and Irene
Elizabeth LaDue Lynch of Binghamton, passed away Saturday afternoon, September
28, 2002, surrounded by her loving family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital
after a long and arduous illness. Liz was predeceased by her sister, Mary Irene
Lynch and her brother, John Francis Lynch. Liz is survived by her husband of 45
years, Gerald Francis Conaty, Vestal; three daughters, Kathleen Louise Abigail,
Plano, Tex., Laura Conaty Brown and Karen Elizabeth Conaty, Binghamton; her
grandchildren, Meghan Anne and Ronald Matthew Abigail and Nathaniel Conaty
Brown, whom she loved and enjoyed so very much. Liz is also survived by her
brother and sister-in-law, Frank Thomas and Blanca Lynch, Yorba Linda, Calif.;
a favorite aunt, Florence La Due, Vestal; sisters-in-law, Mary Eileen Sarrazin
and Eleanor Anne Barnard, Conn., Nancy Read Conaty, Mass., Mildred Smith
Conaty, Va.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James Daniel and Bonnie Joann
Conaty, Conn. Liz is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews and
cousins. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church, Vestal and until
recently enjoyed the company of her senior friends of that parish for the
monthly birthday social gatherings. Liz was a devoted member of the Ladies of
Charity and served on the Board of Managers of the NEARLY NEW SHOP, where she
was quite active and spent a good amount of enjoyable time with her very dear
friends. She missed them ever so much during her absence in recent months.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main
St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul
Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Vestal Hills
Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home,
Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Liz may be made
to the Ladies of Charity, c/o Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main
Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
