Obituary of Philip Herrick

Herrick, Philip R., Sr. Binghamton: Philip R. Herrick Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013. Philip was a US Army Veteran of World War II who was born and raised in Sayre, PA where he ran track for Sayre High School. Philip was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Sindoni Herrick. Philip is survived by his daughter, Margo Green of NJ, her husband, Tom Green and son, Brad of NC; daughter, Darleen and her three children, Andrea Ragonese and her husband Mike, of VA, Michael Joyce, of PA and Alex Joyce, of CO; and his son, Philip Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL; and Phil's great-grandchildren, Rocco, Luciano and Massimo of VA. Philip was a compassionate and kind man who touched many lives. He worshiped and adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. The family would like to thank the Veterans Home of Oxford for their excellent care of Philip. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Friday at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip's name may be made to the Veterans Home in Oxford.
