Obituary of Anna M. Hendrix

Anna M. Chicone Hendrix, 83 of Vestal
went to be with her Lord and her daughter, Denise Chicone Shiel on July 6,
2002. Born in Drifton, Pa., she was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and
Amelia Fendryk. Ann is survived by her sisters, Stella, Fla., Wanda, Pa.; and a
brother, Charles, Pa.; several nieces and nephews including a special niece,
Dolores Barlow and her husband, Ross of Vestal; her son-in-law, John Shiel of
Skaneateles, N.Y. Ann is also survived by her loving and devoted grandson,
Brenden Shiel, who was her caregiver at the time of her death and the light of
her life, Brendan's son, Noah Benjamin Shiel and Cari Whiting and
step-granddaughter, Kelly Jo Shiel. Anna was one of 12 children and was
orphaned at age 11. She was raised by her loving family and in turn raised her
younger siblings. Ann was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City
and retired from Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Co. Ann was known for her love
of life and her ability to survive any and all of life's trials. She was a
caring and giving person who would give away whatever she had to someone in
need. She loved to draw, play bingo and make ceramics. Ann's family would like
to thank Dr. Rei, and the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home for their care and
concern, especially Donna, Tammy, Sharon, Nikki, Hallie, Sherry, Tammy and
Loretta, her Home Health Aide. Funeral services will be held at the J.A.
McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Monday at 9 a.m. and at
9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends
at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
