Obituary of Donald E. Gilbert

Donald Emerson Gilbert, 59, of Binghamton, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Myrtle "Doris" Gilbert. He is survived by his father, Richard D. Gilbert, Binghamton; his brothers, Jerry, Ted, Neal, Randy and his wife Mary, and Ron, all of Binghamton; and a long time friend, Marlene Winters. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany, a graduate of the Delehanty School of Drafting in New York City and a retired planner and draftsman for the Town of Union. He was former Governor of the J.C. Moose Lodge 311, a member of the J.C. Eagles Club, and an avid outdoorsman and race fan. A memorial service will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ken McIntosh, Pastor of the First Christian Church, Binghamton, officiating. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
