Obituary of Patricia K. Consey

Consey, Patricia Kathleen Patricia Kathleen Consey, 76, of Vestal, passed away Thursday January 10, 2013 in her home. She was predeceased by her loving husband of over 50 years, John Consey, and her parents, Kathryn Gyles (Haggerty) and John Gyles. She is survived by her loving children, Eileen Patricia Consey-Heywood of Aberdeen, Scotland, and James John Consey of Albany, NY, as well as her son-in-law, Anthony Heywood; her grandchildren, Susan and John Heywood, whom she held near to her heart; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Philip Cocco; her brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Neta Gyles, Gerard and Barbara Gyles; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and many dear friends, with whom she shared lots of laughs and good memories. Born on May 19, 1936, she graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1954 and worked several years at IBM Owego. She married John Consey at Christ the King Church, Endwell, on September 13, 1958. She was a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal. A true lady of charity, she was a dedicated volunteer with many local and national organizations, including the Ladies of Charity, Catholic Charities, RSVP, Blessed Sacrament School, the St. Vincent's Women's Club and Girl Scouts USA. She became an honorary member of Marywood University. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, traveling, reading mysteries, telling stories, (and hamming it up). She spent many very happy times with her Dominoes Group and UE Breakfast Club. Her family and friends are thankful for her great sense of humor and the love of life she shared with them. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
