Obituary of James A. Mulcahy

James A. Mulcahy, 79, of Vestal, died
Thursday morning, September 26, 2002. He was predeceased by his parents.
Maurice and Cecelia Mulcahy; his sisters, Loretta, Mary and Rose; a brother,
Maurice; and his grandson, Tony Winter. He is survived by his loving wife of 57
years, Lois Mulcahy; his children, James P. and Debra Mulcahy, Cindy and
Charles Grunklee, Diane Mulcahy, Daniel and Linda Mulcahy; his grandchildren,
Connie and Ralph Smith, James P. and Pamela Mulcahy, Robert and Tamara Winter,
Shana and Darrin White, Zachary Mulcahy, Cody Mulcahy, Chelsea and Ryan
Mulcahy, Nathan Mulcahy; sisters and brother, Helen Mulcahy, Joseph and Pat
Mulcahy, Patricia Rourke; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St.
John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton, a graduate of Aquinas High School and
RIT in Rochester. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Jim was a past
president of Sertoma and past president of the N.Y. State Restaurant
Association. He was the successful proprietor for 26 years of Perkins Pancake
House in Binghamton, Oneonta and Endicott, and Pub Grubbers in Chenango Bridge.
Jim was also the recipient of many community service awards. Funeral services
will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton,
Monday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a
Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Sunday from 2
to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be
made to Camp Sertoma, c/o Binghamton Boy's and Girl's Club, 257 Washington St.,
Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
