Joseph
P. "Joe Pat" McCormack, 64, of Binghamton, died Thursday morning,
March 29, 2001, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his
parents, Raymond J. and Julia McCormack, Sr.; and his brothers, Raymond J.
McCormack, Jr., and Michael A. McCormack. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law,
Rosemary and James Mullins, Avon Park, Fla., Shirley A. McCormack, Julia and
Joseph Fish, all of Binghamton, Jeanne and Lyle Pyke, Charlotte, N.C., Kathleen
and Ronald Charsky, Binghamton; sisters-in-law, Angela McCormack and Virginia
McCormack; 23 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and nephews; aunts, uncle and
several cousins. Joe Pat was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton,
graduate of Binghamton Central High School, veteran of the United States Army.
He was a switchman for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and retired in 1993 from
the Canadian-Pacific Railroad. He was an active member for years of the
Binghamton YMCA Athletic Club. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's
Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Saturday, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive
friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton,
Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Joe Pat may be
made to the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside
Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9
Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
