Robert
Edward Zdimal, Sr., 75, of Binghamton, died Friday morning, February 9, 2001,
at the New York State Veterans Home, Oxford, after an extended illness. He was
predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary Palmatier Zdimal; and a brother,
Albert Zdimal. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and
Richard Smith, Richboro, Pa.; Patricia and George Smith, Las Vegas, Nev., Nancy
and Stan Konopka, Franklin, Tenn.; two sons, Robert Zdimal, Jr., and Dennis
Zdimal, Binghamton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a special
friend of the family, Robert Teribury; three sisters, Valerie Present, Jenny
Zdimal, Irene Denham; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Eileen
Zdimal, Joseph and Peggy Zdimal, John and Lavonne Zdimal; several nieces and
nephews. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, a veteran of
the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, a member of American Legion Post 478,
and a retired employee of G.A.F. Corp. Funeral services will be held at the
J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday, at 8:30
a.m., and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass will be
offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will
receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
