Obituary of Philip W. DeSando

Philip
W. DeSando, 72, of Binghamton, died Wednesday evening, January 10, 2001, at
Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents,
Michael and Emma De Sando; and a nephew, Joseph DeSando. He is survived by his
wife of 48 years, Matilda DeMaio DeSando, Binghamton; a son and daughter-in-law,
Philip and Candice DeSando, Endwell; his loving granddaughter, Samantha
DeSando; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Manny Monopoli, Conn., Ann
and Louie Gambo, N.J.; two brothers and sister-in-law,Jack and Sarah DeSando,
Dallas, Pa.; Michael DeSando, Dunmore, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. He was
a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, retired 35-year employee of
C.A.E. Link, Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member of V.F.W.
Post 478 and American Legion Post 1645. Phil coached Pee Wee football for many
years and coached Legion ball for Post 1645. Funeral services will be held at
the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday at
1 p.m., and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass
will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family
will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.
