Obituary of Earl W. Golden

Earl W. Golden, of Vestal, died Tuesday
morning, December 18, 2001 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased
by his parents, Earl and Jane Golden; and his brother, Harry Golden. He is
survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Eleanor Golden, Vestal; his
children, Maryjane Golden, S.S.M.N., Charleston, S.C., Joyce Golden, Conklin,
Kathleen and George Gabello, Vestal; Bill and Ginny Golden, Binghamton, Elaine
and Robert Reeves, Johnson City, Janice and Ron Turski, Mechanicsville, Va. He
was "Poppi" to ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; a
sister, Jean Pape, Endwell, several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St.
Vincent de Paul Church, Vestal. He was a retired 50 year employee of the
Endicott-Johnson Corp. and was currently a greeter at Wal-Mart in Vestal. Earl
was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Post 1645. He was a
former 10th Ward Councilman in the City of Binghamton and was active in the
Broome Democratic Party. Funeral services will be held at theJ. A. McCormack
Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Thursday at 12:30 a.m. and at 1
p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at
the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of
flowers, expressions of sympathy, in memory of Earl, may be made to Sisters of
St. Mary of Namur Infirmary Fund, 257 Lafayette Ave., Buffalo, N.Y. 14213.
