Obituary of Henry L. Tobin

Dr. Henry Loughlin Tobin, 101, of Binghamton,
died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 1, 2002 at his home. He was predeceased
by his wife, Mary Keenan Tobin in 1982. He is survived by his children,
Catherine and Edward Kollar, W. Hartford, Conn., Margaret and Joseph Coffey,
Binghamton, Jane and William Lundregan, Marblehead, Mass., Kevin Tobin and Rita
Petcash, Vestal; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews in Canada. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church,
Binghamton. Dr. Tobin was born in Kempville, Ontario, Canada on April 26, 1901
and was a 1928 graduate of Queens University Medical School in Kingston,
Ontario, Canada. He was an intern at St. Michael's Hospital at the University
of Toronto, Canada. He was a resident at Brooklyn Eye and Ear Institute and then
accepted a position at Endicott-Johnson Corp. In 1936, Dr. Tobin opened a
private practice in Binghamton, where he served the community until his
retirement in 1984. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church
Saturday at 12 noon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kinston, Ontario,
Canada. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral
Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
