Obituary of James J. Taylor

James J. (Joe) Taylor, 83, formerly of Endicott, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, March 6, 2015. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Anne M. Taylor; a daughter, Susan Melia; his parents, James and Anna Taylor; two brothers, John and William Taylor; and a sister, Rita Savage. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Timothy and Ellen Taylor, Cranberry Twp., PA, LoriAnne and Robert Welch, Brackney, PA, MaryBeth and Glenn Weaver, Forest Lake, PA, James and JinOk Taylor, Port Crane; a son-in-law, James Melia, Endicott; 11 grandchildren, Kate (Carlos) and Colleen (Aidan); Jeremy (Kim) and Joshua (Andrea); Lovissa and Asa; Tammy (Kevin), Trever (Justine) and Brandon; Abigael and Lucas; 7 great-grandchildren, Robert, Reagan, Lacey, Jameson, Oliver, Pablo and Tanner; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Helen Taylor, Maine, NY, Donald and Jackie Taylor, Sarasota, FL; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family who meant the world to him. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, PA. He was a fifty year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 112, Binghamton. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for the compassionate care given to James. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, PA, on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850, in James J. Taylor's memory.
