Alfred W. Rutter, 68 of Binghamton, formerly of Natick, MA died unexpectedly, Friday, November 21, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Rita Rutter and his brother, Robert Rutter. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lois Lubinski Rutter, Binghamton; his children, Diane Rinehart (Krick), Mary Tayes, Pamela Regan and Patricia Regan, and Brian Rutter; five grandchildren, Brittany, Shannon, Joshua, Kayla and Justin; a niece, Melanna Carroll. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. Alfred retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 1645 and past commander of American Legion Post 107 in Natick, MA and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He enjoyed Irish folk music, football, deep-sea fishing and reading, especially Stephen King and John Grisham novels. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Al may be made to the Ancient Order of Hibernians Building Fund, 148 Main Street Binghamton, NY 13905 or to the Animal Care Council, 121 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
