Obituary of Thomas Buchta

Buchta, Thomas A. Thomas A. Buchta, 71 of Binghamton, died Thursday October 23, 2014 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Isabel and Paul Buchta; a brother, Paul Buchta; and his sisters, June Harding and Diane Derr. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Kane Buchta, Binghamton; a sister, Dale Sypher; two brothers, Robert Buchta, Joseph and Colleen Buchta; sister in law, Sharon Corrington; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Tom had a deep and abiding faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tom loved Native American people and culture. In his earlier years he served as director of a county alcoholism center near Lake Tahoe. When Tom saw someone in trouble he unhesitatingly tried to help them. He adored his two cats, "Tommy and Miranda". Memorial services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Monday at 1 p.m. Reverend Alfred J. Bebel, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Monday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903.
