Anna Mae Tokos, 83, of Binghamton, died Friday October 3, 2014 at her home with her son and daughter by her side. Anna Mae was predeceased by her soul mate and love of her life, her husband of 63 years, John "Yonk" Tokos; her parents, Margaret and Leo J. Murphy Sr.; her sisters and brothers, Josephine Murphy, Alice Murphy, Agnes Murphy, Vincent Murphy, Helen Richardson, Beverly Barnes, Marilyn "Dottie" Vashina, John Murphy, Michael Murphy, Dennis Murphy, William Murphy, Gary Murphy. She is survived by her children, daughter, Patricia Tokos Collins; son, John Tokos Jr; her sisters, Janet La Vasser, Kathleen Farmer; sister-in-law, Barbara Murphy, all of Binghamton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Josephine and Leonard Balch of Johnson City; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close neighbors, especially Harry and Marge Feldmanis. She was a life long member SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Binghamton. Anna Mae graduated from Johnson City High School, and returned and worked in the cafeteria for 26 years. She had a soft spot for all children. Anna Mae was a devoted wife and mother and worked next to her husband on their farm all of her life. Anna was an avid polka dancer and active member of the Bill Flynn Polka Club. Anna had a zest for life, a smile that could light up the room and a great love for the great outdoors. She also enjoyed traveling and her many trips to the casino. She will forever be missed by many. A Funeral Mass will be offered at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, Binghamton, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Anna Mae may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
