Reardon, Jacqueline Mary
Venice, FL: Jacqueline Mary Reardon, age 76, died peacefully on August 12, 2014 at her home in Venice, FL after a courageous battle with leukemia diagnosed on April 3rd. Jackie was born May 3, 1938 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Ward. Jackie graduated from Harpur College in 1958. She married her college sweetheart, Gerald Frederick Reardon, and would have celebrated their 55th anniversary on August 22nd. They lived and created many great memories and friendships in New York, Ohio, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida. Family was the core of who she was and brought her the greatest joy. She was a loving and amazing mother to her four children: Colleen, Jerry, Brenda, and Denise. She was also an extremely proud grandmother to her 11 beautiful grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Meghan, Kathryn, Kelly, Josh, Shannon, Taylor, Emily, Ashley, and Nicole; as well as her two great-grandchildren, Timmy and Will. Jackie had a special bond and love for her daughter-in-law, Lynn, and sons-in-law. She also had a special place in her heart for her sisters-in-law, MaryEllen, Shirley, and Phyllis, and all of her wonderful nieces and nephews. One of her greatest times every year was at "The Pond" in Vestal, NY for the Fourth of July where all of her family came together for laughs, games, great food, bonfires, and lasting memories. Jackie was the master hostess and loved to entertain, always dedicated to making sure that everyone felt welcome and had the best time whether they were family or dear friends. She was a spirited and lovable competitor whether it was with golf, tennis, Trivial Pursuit, pitch, or even ping pong. She was a natural leader, volunteering for anything and everything over her lifetime. Most recently, she was the President of Venice G&CC Women's Golf Association. Jackie had a strong faith and was a member of Epiphany Cathedral. She was honored to be asked to say the prayer at many of the banquets and events held at the Venice Golf and Country Club. Each prayer was unique and special. Jackie is survived by her dear sister, Sharon. She has joined her older brother, Dick, parents, and several other dear friends and family. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness and the many more family and friends who showered her with love and prayers through cards and visits. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St., Endwell, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to
