Obituary of Norman French

French, Norman E. Vestal: Norman E. French, 67, of Vestal, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, after a 4 year battle with ALS. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Catharine French; and his father-in-law, Joseph Scarantino. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Angie (Scarantino) French, Vestal; his children, Denise and Lou McAllister, Vestal, Derek and Pearl French, Carmel, IN; a wonderful "PaPa" to his grandchildren, Maggie and Matt McAllister, Logan and Brody French; his mother-in-law, Katie Scarantino. Norman retired from L3, formerly Singer-Link. He was a member of the board and treasurer of Valley Industrial Credit Union. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and supported Vestal Little League and Volleyball and was an avid fan of his grandchildren's sporting events. The family wishes to thank the nurses on South Tower 5 at Wilson Memorial Hospital and the Vestal Emergency Squad and all supporters of the ALS walk team "Normy". Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Reverend Laurence J. Lord will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Norm may be made to ALS Foundation, Upstate NY Chapter, 890 7th St. Suite 108, Liverpool, NY 13088.
