Eugene Nicholas Adams went to be with the Lord on Monday July 14, 2014, at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY after a valiant battle with heart disease surrounded by friends and family. Gene was a graduate of Youngstown State University and received his MSW from Marywood University. He was a New York State vocational rehabilitation counselor for many years and also had a private social work practice. Active in 12 step recovery for many years, he will be dearly missed by his friends and family. The family wishes to thank Gene's close friend Kyle Washington for his dedication and support throughout this difficult time. He will always be remembered for his wry sense of humor, his kindness and compassion to all. Gene's gratitude for life was nearly always characterized by his memorable words, "Thank you all for sharing your sobriety and spirituality with me." So many he touched will never forget.
