Josephine Parisi Stento, 84, of Binghamton, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Joseph A. Stento Sr. and her infant son, Michael; her parents, Joseph and Nicolina Parisi; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julia and Angelo Stento; her sisters, Lucy DeSanctis, Angie Miller, Julia Dinga; brothers-in-law, Cy DeSanctis, Milton Miller, Tony Iacovelli. She is survived by her children, Julie and Jerry Adams, Joseph and Donna Stento Jr., Cathy and Tim Mullins, Angelo and Linda Stento, Luanne and Bruno DiRico; seven grandchildren, Jason Adams and Denette Thams, Kylie and Preston Thomas, Adam Stento, Lindsay Stento, Meredith Mullins, Jennifer and Joey Morabito, Corey Stento; brothers and sister, Connie Iacovelli, Mario and Margo Parisi, John Parisi, Cosmo Parisi; brother-in-law, John Dinga; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, member of the Golden Age Club and a longtime volunteer at many church functions. Josie loved Bingo, reading, and going to Tioga Downs. Josie was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She had an extraordinary gift for baking and cooking and she most enjoyed being around her family, especially at holidays. Our family wishes to thank the staff at Lourdes Hospital and James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home for the wonderful care and comfort given during Josie's illness. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 12 noon until 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Josie may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790
