Obituary of Margaret Ryan

Margaret Ryan, 93, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Margaret was born in Binghamton, NY on New Year's Eve 1920 to Frank and Anna Potusky. She was the youngest of 13 children all of whom have predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her loving and caring husband of 56 years, James E. Ryan, Sr., who passed away in 1994. Margaret is survived by her four children, James E. Ryan, Jr. and Susan of Fayetteville, NY, Joseph F. Ryan and Joanne of Bradenton, FL, Mary Lou Ryan of Stuart, FL, and Marjorie Ryan of Binghamton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews. Known for her style, humor, wit and devotion to her family, Margaret was also known as Mom, Gramma, and Gramma-Great. Our memories of her will always evoke love and a smile. A life-long member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton Margaret was active in many parish projects and served with the Parents and Teachers Association. She also worked with numerous children's programs at St. Patrick's Parochial School during its existence. Among her most enjoyable workplace experiences was her position as office manager for Dr. Morgan Berry. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at both Good Shepherd Communities, Endwell and Fairview, for their excellent service and kindness. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Friday from 3-5 p.m
