Obituary of Esther Rudy

Esther Lanko Rudy, 92 of Binghamton died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Elizabeth Church Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick Rudy; her parents, Christopher and Julia Lanko; her sisters, Julia, Isabella, Dorothy; brothers, Raymond, Christopher, Louis. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Lanko, CA; a sister, Marian Pastuzyn, NJ; her niece and nephews, John and Liz Whalen, David and Joan Whalen, Barbara and David George; great nieces and nephews, Kathleen Pasquale, Michael Whalen, Ryan Whalen, Christopher Whalen, David Whalen, Joseph Whalen, Meghann Rogers, Jennifer Fish; sister in law, Betty Lanko; special cousin, Judy Sullivan. She was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Binghamton; retired 37 year employee of the A&P Tea Co. and a member of the First Ward Senior Citizens and the Czechoslovak Moravian Club. Esther was well known for her ethnic baking for numerous church functions as well as weddings and parties for family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Binghamton Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Esther may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
