Obituary of Mary Jane Welch

Mary Jane Welch, 92, of Binghamton passed away on Thursday May 8th, 2014. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Ray & Mary (Rainey) Welch. And their infant daughter Susan Leigh. Surviving her are special cousins Kenneth Powlison & Arthur Powlison. Also surviving her are many cherished friends including Dick Murphy & family, Joan Lawlor & family, Joey (Kate & Abby) Medinosky, and Violet "Sis" Paugh. Mary Jane was a member of Beta-Sigma-Phi, a retiree from Binghamton General Hospital, and a member of the T.A.L.C luncheon club. Most important, Mary Jane was a proud member of the Christ Episcopal Church and former member of its St. Anne's Guild and Vestry. In addition, a sincere thank you goes out to the employees of the James G. Johnston Nursing Facility who made Mary Jane's short stay at Hilltop as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Chris Episcopal Church, 10 Henry Street, Binghamton, New York 13901 in Mary Jane's memory. Burial will be in Christ Church's memorial garden at a later date. Rest comfortably Mary Jane! You overcame many obstacles, worked hard, and more than paid your dues. The lonely days over, it's time for you to dance in the sunshine.
