Isabell K. Toomey, 95, of the Lake Wallkill section of Vernon Twp., New Jersey, passed away after a short illness on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier in Binghamton, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Mary Murphy Kearns. She has been a full time resident of Lake Wallkill since 1995 and has been spending summers there since 1964. Prior to moving to Lake Wallkill in 1995 she was a resident of the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY.
Mrs. Toomey was a devoted mother with many hobbies including knitting, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandson. She worked at U.S. Trust Company as a finance officer, in Manhattan until her retirement in 1987.
Mrs. Toomey was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert A. Toomey. She is survived by her daughter Diane Kelly and husband Louis of Binghamton, NY and her beloved grandson Robert G. Kelly.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Main Street, Johnson City, Tuesday June 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Isabell's memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
