Obituary of Camilla Kunkel
Please share a memory of Camilla to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Camilla (Dellapenna) Kunkel, 58 years old passed away peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord on June 11th, 2024. She is predeceased by her mother Ernestine (Dellapenna) Kunkel, Grandparents Camillo and Mary Dellapenna. She is survived by guardians Mark and Nellina Dellapenna. She is now reunited with her mother. Camilla was her mother's most treasured gift, and her mother was her biggest advocate. Camilla was a resident at Broome Developmental Center and later transitioned to Loder Ave., Residential Treatment Center, Endicott, NY. Her beautiful smile and personality were loved by those who cared for her despite the challenges and struggles she may have had. Ernestine fought tirelessly for Camilla to walk and through the support of neighbors and the community performing a technique called "patterning," she did indeed walk. Later, Ernestine supported parents with children who are developmentally disabled through the Parent's Foundation at Broome Developmental Center. We want to thank the staff at Loder Ave. who showed unconditional kindness and compassion to Camilla. Specifically, Melissa and Don, who went above and beyond with their care and tenderness for Camilla. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 10am at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
