James Donald Trucker, age 67, passed away peacefully at Binghamton General Hospital in the early morning hours of April 1, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1957 in Binghamton, NY. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1975. He attended DeVry University in Chicago, Ill and graduated with an Associate's degree in computer programming. Prior to an accident that left him a paraplegic, he enjoyed motorcycles, bowling and skiing. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed crafting gifts for family and friends. His true love was building radio controlled airplanes. As a member of the Binghamton Aeros (R/C Aircraft Flying Club), he spent countless hours at the Chenango Bridge Airport flying his planes. He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Donald and Elaine Trucker and his beloved cat Lightning. He is survived by his two sisters: Patricia and her husband Dr. William Payes of Vestal, NY and Joanne Trucker of Rutland, VT; three nephews, Aaron Payes (Atlanta, GA), Adam Payes (Binghamton, NY), Brendan Golubjatnikov (Missoula, MT) and a niece, Dr. Arielle Payes (San Diego, CA); his Aunt Ann and Uncle Everett Heiss (Danvers, MA); three cousins: Susan and her husband Robert McDermott (Gloucester, MA), Barb and her husband Robert Goodwill (Dorchester, MA) and Brian and his wife Syd Heiss (Chester, PA), and his cousin Martina Finch. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dawn & Angelo Ranieri for their loving care of our brother, and the staff at the Palliative Care unit at Binghamton General Hospital.
The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday April 8, 2024 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held immediately following visitation in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Tower of Memories Chapel, Rev. Glenn Mahaffey will officiate.
