Obituary of Kathryn C. Healy
Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathryn Cuddy Healy, a resident of Binghamton, NY, died peacefully on March 03rd, 2024.
Kathie was born on June 6th, 1940, in Auburn, New York. The youngest of four children of Kathryn and Joseph Cuddy, she grew up admiring her older sister Marianne, and her brothers, Ned and Bill. Kathie attended Catholic schools, graduating from Mount Carmel High School and Rosary Hill College.
After college, Kathie lived in Washington, D.C. and worked for Senator Robert Kennedy for three years before returning to Auburn. In 1968, Kathie married Charles (Chuck) Healy, and they moved to the Town of Chenango in Binghamton, NY. Their marriage of nearly 56 years was a testament to their strong commitment of faith.
Kathie served the community as a social worker for Broome County Child Protective Services for 34 years. Kathie was active in her retirement, routinely golfing with friends, skiing with Chuck, and traveling with him and other family members. She volunteered for many years at Project Concern, and relished spending time with family and friends. Kathie and Chuck were long-time parishioners of Saint Christopher's Church and later Saint Francis of Assisi's Church. She and Chuck were also proud members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; in 2023 Kathie was recognized for being a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians for over 50 years.
Above all, Kathie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She deeply loved her family and was eternally grateful to God for all the blessing of life. Kathie cherished family time, especially annual family reunions in the Adirondacks.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Ned, Bill and Marianne. She is survived by her husband Chuck, her three children, C.J. (Mingyi) Healy, Colleen Martin, and Kevin (Maggie) Healy; as well as nine grandchildren (Taylor, John, Catherine, Margaret Ann, Natalie, Elizabeth, Meghan, Baylis, and Ellie). She is also survived by many close relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by her neighbors, family and friends, but her legacy of love and gratitude for the blessings of life will be a continuous inspiration.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn, NY, Monday March 11, 2024 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
