Her church -her favorite church- was the garden, the kitchen, the forest, the beach, the art studio - Nature wherever it appears. Our gardens- hers and mine was the only place we could work side by side in complete love and peace. We never challenged on another there.
She loved all humans. And so she loved us.

Anita was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. She brought joy and life to all of our family gatherings. Her smile and her love of a tasty meal set her apart from the ordinary. She will be remembered with love and missed by all who knew her..

Mom pulling me in a sleigh to go to Poncho’s Pit when I was maybe 4. Laying on the couch watching tv with my head in her lap and she would rub my ear. XMas morning with dad leading her blindfolded to her new facial steamer that he bought her. Her amazing gingerbread house display with lollipops we couldn’t eat until Xmas Day. Making homemade pasta. Dropping me off at SUNY Binghamton for my first day of classes. JUST - Everything.

Mom marveled at the simplest of things- the way the clouds looked and floated by, the colors of the autumn leaves, flowers- she loved her gardening! Walking in a park she would stop any dog going by, baby in a stroller. Loved watching her great grandchildren playing on the playground, doing little art projects with them. Her favorite place was Barnes and Noble. She would clap when I said we were going there.
She loved going out for ice cream cones too. I’m going to miss the simple things we did together. I always look to the sky and watch the clouds float by. Love you mom!!❤️

I will always remember the joy and excitement expressed by Anita when she shared pictures of
her trip to Italy. In particular,
her photos of the Amalfi Coast were breathtaking! Whenever I see references or pictures of the Amalfi Coast I immediately think of Anita. I will never forget her beautiful smile and contagious personality. She was an authentic person, true to her spirit. She will be dearly missed. Much love, Valerie

A Eulogy of Anita Mangiaracina, Mom, Auntie, Nana.
'Anita was born a luminous soul who loved, sang, cried, and created art throughout a life filled with passion and joy; she has now taken her final bow. Living within the aura of the classical arts; she graced our world with her artistic spirit and left an indelible mark on the canvases of our existence.
Anita was an artist, a painter of emotions; her brushstrokes captivating the hues of joy, sorrow and wonder. Her studio at times filled with canvases that whispered secrets to those that dared to look closely. She revealed in the abstract, beauty in the chaos of colors merging and diverging. Her hands wove tales of peace, loss and resilience.
However it was in music that Anita truly soared with a captivating voice that resonated and created emotions of calm, beauty and style. She transcended the genre of opera to contemporary musicals (1940, 50s & 60s), although she never embraced Queen or any new age music. Whether it was a Mother Goose rhyme, a fun filled Rodgers and Hammerstein piece, or a Verdi Aria; Anita made it her own to the joy of everyone around her.
How do you explain the dichotomy, the issues and the zemblanity that Anita encountered?.
Ah Yes, the eternal question comes up: How do you solve a problem like Anita? *
When I’m with her I’m confused, out of focus and bemused.
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?’
How do you keep a wave upon the sand?
How do you find a word that means Anita?: A flibbertigibbet, A will-o-the-wisp
How do you solve a problem like Anita?
Anita showed us: You don’t!
You embrace her quirks, her laughter that shoots out like a burst of champagne engulfing everyone within earshot. For Anita was always a problem and a solution - she was the off-beat syncopation in the melody that completes the symphony of our lives. And when you close your eyes and think of Anita, you’ll hear her voice singing melodies that provide the peace and resilience she gave us.
Anita saw beauty and goodness in all of us.
Mom, God blessed you throughout your life and as you take your place in heaven with all of our dearly departed family members, may God grant you and all of us who mourn eternal peace.
I love you forever.

From Sally:
As mom's oldest daughter, I was her big helper growing up. I wanted her to be proud of me and she told me often that she was. We nearly always got along well, rarely having any big arguments. She was forever praising us and never played favorites. It was truly evident to anyone that she was fiercely proud of her greatest accomplishment: her children.
Mom knew our strengths and weaknesses and never hesitated in letting us know. She would tell us when we were moving in a wrong direction with so much conviction that we couldn't help but listen and take it to heart. Above all she always encouraged us to be our own person, not to follow the crowd.
Mom was an incredible cook (I love food because of her!), a lover of all things creative, and found beauty the everyday, especially in children. She couldn't pass by a child without expressing her excitement of their perfectness and saying: “Always say, 'God Bless'.”
I am incredibly grateful to have had Mom in my life for my 66 years. I hope and pray that her amazing gifts will live on in our family.
Her dad, also an artistic soul, had a special place in her heart and she would always say “I am my father's daughter” because of her love of all things beautiful. I say that “I am my mother’s daughter” and for that, I am truly grateful.

Our family always loved getting together with your mom. She was warm and sweet and always enjoyed the Grajewski family and kids. She enjoyed family get togethers and frequently would break into song with our dad, Siggy. She had a beautiful voice! She loved to laugh and have a good time. And always had great stories to tell. She will be missed but we know that she will be enjoying herself in heaven.
Love, Janie & Ben

My dear, sweet Aunt Anita, whose loving spirit and natural beauty always impressed me. As a youngster, I admired her happy personality. Always smiling, her laugh filled the whole room! My own parents, her bother-in-law Mike and wife Lu absolutely loved her. We kids enjoyed being with her big family since it was so much fun for us. She was a true Artist in every sense of the word and also adored animals. Anita brought much love to so many, and I was one of those lucky ones. I'll miss her terribly. May the Lord bless her and keep her soul forever.
