Obituary of Eileen A. Southern
Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eileen A. (Kincer) Southern, 79, of Binghamton, NY, peacefully joined our Lord on January 22, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Pierce O. Kincer and Mary (Kenyon) Kincer, her brother Thomas Kincer and sister-in-law Judith Kincer, nephew Patrick Kincer. Eileen is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Brian B. Southern, sister Helen (Tom) Kincer-Edwards, nephews Michael (Lisa) Kincer, Scott (Juana) Kincer, Jonathan (Jen) Edwards, nieces Kirsten (Randy) Reynolds, Tara (Ryan) Petrozello and great-niece "her heart" Esther Reynolds, great-nephews Cody Ryan and Michael (Geena) Condame, dear friend Adriane Papazian, and step-children, Rolland Southern, Lisa Zechman, Linda Walter and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eileen was born March 29, 1944, in Binghamton, NY. She started her career as a licensed cosmetologist. She then worked at Link Flight Simulator, for 30 years as an Executive Secretary for many executives and finally the President of the company, before retiring.
Eileen and Brian loved to travel and took many trips with family and their friend, Adriane and her family. In her retirement she enjoyed the "breakfast club" with her dear friends and great-niece, Esther, at McDonalds, monthly luncheons with her long-time friends, Carol Giorgio, Jane Kron, Karen Anderson and Jane Onysko, and spending time with her nieces and nephews and their families.
To know Eileen was to be in the presence of true grace and elegance; to experience what absolute dedication to loved ones felt like; and to know what it was like to have an angel walking among us. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt who poured her heart and soul into her family and friends, and always put the comfort and needs of others ahead of her own. She never complained about anything. Eileen was a rare woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
"Go rest high on that mountain
Daughter, your work on earth is done"
