Obituary of Marion L. Coughlin

Marion is Survived by her husband of 64 years, Dennis (Denny) Coughlin Sr. Marion & Denny celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on December 12th. Denny first met Marion when she was 13 years old and together, they forged ahead as a team. Marion is survived by daughters Anita (Jeff Valent), Michelle (Jeff Thigpen), and Denise, sons Brian Coughlin (Jacky) and James Coughlin (Mary), 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sisters in law Barbara Coughlin, Millie Coughlin, Patricia Coughlin, and Sue Coughlin, brothers in law Martin Coughlin and Richard Coughlin, as well as the family cat, Rowan. Marion was a strong and compassionate woman respected by many. She was known for the cleanliness of her home, attention to her children, and work ethic. Marion was forever at Denny's side operating the family service businesses while managing Dial-A-Maid as well. Marion was well known at Forest Lake, a member of FLCOA, active in the Johnson City Jaycees Community Services and in later years, was a respected aid working at UHS, North Tower Five. Denny would like to thank Marion's nieces, JoAnn (John Carrigg) and Kathy (Mark Grabowski) who held special meaning to her. A special thank you to all the children of the Tim and Barb Coughlin family. God knows we are like one big family. Above all, thank you to Anita, Brian, and Michelle, for their loving care of their mother. Appreciation is extended to the doctors, UHS Hospital staff, and Lourdes Hospice, especially nurse Hannah for the care that was provided throughout Marion's journey. A celebration of life will take place at Family Life Church 157 Clark Street, Vestal, NY 13850, on January 13, 2024, at 10:30 am. It will include a eulogy and blessing at noon.
