My condolences to the Steed family. My mother, Betty Duffy, née Murphy would speak of her good friend, Joyce. Joyce and Betty were in nursing school together and Joyce was a bridesmaid in my parents’ (Betty and John) wedding. Betty and Joyce went on the triple blind date where my parents met. My mom would talk about nursing school and how they would sneak pizzas into the dormitory at night. They had a lot of laughs in school together. I met Joyce only a few times but what I remember was how kind she was, especially at my mom’s funeral. May you treasure the memories you have of her and may she rest in peace.
