Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeffery, Richard Thomas "Jeff" 70, of Binghamton, NY, went home to be with his Lord, October 6, 2012, after enduring a long suffering and disabling injury. Mr. Jeffery, a God-fearing man, is survived by his children: a daughter, Maris Freije and her husband Michael, son, Richard Jeffery and son, Michael Hall and his wife Carrie; his grandchildren, Jes Dwyer, William Dwyer III, Wyatt Hall, Rena Hall, Alyssa Hall, and Michael Hall Jr.; his brothers, Dan Jeffery and Ben Jeffery and his wife Deb; sisters, Alice Van Gelder, Alberta Bush and her husband Forrest; his close personal friends, Art and Char Studer and Phil and Joy Bernardo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeff proudly served the United States Army in the 104th Artillery 1st Howitzer Battalion Battery "C" and was honorably discharged in 1962. He attended Binghamton High School and Broome Community College. He was employed by GAF/Ansco throughout most of his career, followed by a decade of consulting. He later worked for the Shortline Bus Company. He enjoyed volunteering as Santa every year he could. In his younger years, he spent his free time hunting and fishing, and thoroughly enjoyed his time on the golf course. More recently, you would find him on Facebook. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren, all of whom "Grandpa Jeff" expects will honor him with their individual choices, live life with purpose, and give the very best effort to everything they do. He is already missed. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Vestal Hills Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest next to Jamey. Reverend Timothy R. Bennett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial Merit Scholarship contributions may be made in his name to BCC Foundation, PO Box 1017, Binghamton, NY 13902-1017 or by calling BCC Foundation at 607-778-5036.
