Obituary of Ruth M. Hirschoff
Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth Marie Hirschoff, 74, a lifelong resident of Binghamton's south side, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Endicott, NY. She was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, devotion, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
Ruthie was born to the late Herbert and Gertrude Hirschoff, who preceded her in death along with her infant sister, Patricia (Patty) and sister-in-law Janice Hirschoff. She leaves behind a loving legacy cherished by her brother William (Bill) Hirschoff and sister-in-law Robin, her adoring nephews Peterallen Hirschoff and his wife Susette, Joseph Hirschoff and his wife Jeanette, niece Kelly Hirschoff and great nephew, Logan Hirschoff, who was the apple of Ruthie's eye.
Professionally, Ruthie dedicated herself to a career at Crawford & Company, where her work as a claims adjuster touched the lives of countless individuals. Her commitment to helping others in their times of need was truly exceptional and was a skill she developed as a lifelong Catholic and member of the church of Saint John. However, Ruthie's passion extended far beyond her career. She was the heart and soul of the Lennon Sisters Fan Club for several decades. Her journey with the Lennon Sisters, from being a devoted fan in her youth to becoming a cherished friend and eventually the club's president, was a testament to her unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.
Ruthie's generosity knew no bounds. She was always ready to extend a helping hand, especially to her beloved niece and nephews. Whether it was sending care packages filled with Broome County specialties or penning heartfelt notes of love and encouragement, Ruthie's thoughtfulness provided a virtual hug to her loved ones whenever they were far from home.
Above all, Ruthie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her circle of friends included her favorite cousin AnnMarie Whalen, Pat Pineau, Lee Lorimer, Bonnie Hanes, and Casey Patterson, who were not just friends but cherished companions who offered support and comfort throughout her life's journey.
Ruthie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
