I played CYO ball for Kevin, 1970-72. Coach McCane demanded our best effort, always, and was not bashful to let you know when it was wanting. But it was his kindness & commitment to fairness that drove our respect for him as our Coach. Later in life, when I & others had an opportunity to share a beer with him, you quickly learned his talent coaching, which was considerable, was far exceeded by his character & civility. I was very lucky to have known him and very sorry I didn’t stay in touch . Mary Ellen, I wish you and your family my sincerest condolences.
