Obituary of Carolyn J. Benarick

On May 20th, 2023 heaven gained an angel when Carolyn Benarick of Endicott, NY peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and savior. For 85 glorious years she was the beautiful melody in the rhythm of our lives and the music of her life lives on. She is survived by her children; Jon Benarick of Binghamton, NY, Gary Benarick of Endicott, NY, Joseph Benarick of Johnson City, NY and Lori Fronek (Husband Vernon) of Endicott, NY and Mary Howland whom Mom regarded as a second daughter; grandchildren Chelsea Short, Devon Benarick, Jaime Benarick, Julia Winnicki, Anthony Fronek and Nicholas Fronek; and 1 great grandchild Novella Anderson; Sister-in-law Judy Santman and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her Husband Walter and her parents Margaret (Lee) and Charles Schabel and brother-in-law William Santman. Carolyn was born on 3/25/38. She attended Binghamton Central High School. She married Walter Benarick in 1962. Carolyn worked at Tri Cities Credit Bureau and Marine Midland Bank before having children. Carolyn was a homemaker when her children were young then worked at Gardner Motors and Gentiva during her career. She loved music and loved to shop and dote on her grand children as well as the children of her friends, especially Tyler whom she had a special bond with as he lovingly referred to her as "Mema". She loved dogs, especially pugs and spoiled cats as well. Her smile and warm ways touched everyone that she met. She was blessed to be with the wonderful congregation of New Fellowship Church of Endicott. She was thankful for the wonderful care that she received from all her doctors, the staff at Wilson Hospital, her dialysis caretakers and volunteer drivers, and all the comfort she received from Mercy House. Carolyn was shown so much love in her last weeks, as she received a lot of caring visitors from her special friends and family. A celebration of life service for Carolyn is scheduled for Saturday June 3, 2023 at New Fellowship Church, Tracy Street, Endicott, NY. Family will receive friends at 11 a.m. and the celebration of life service will be at noon followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. A graveside burial ceremony will be attended by the family in Forest City, PA at a later date.
